Hi Guys -Thanks for visiting, unfortunately we are not operating from Aug 2019 to Dec 2020 due to other commitments. Apologies but do keep us in mind after that. We do still have the bikes, gear & knowledge so if you are really desperate drop us a line and we may be able to assist.

Jump on one of our late model dual sport adventure bikes and let us show you around the stunning and isolated Southern Bays.  Tours are generally 10:30- 4:30 but can be modified to suit time available.  All necessary gear provided (incl riding gear, fuel & refreshments), check the tours out below.

Maximum of four riders and your guide on a fifth motorcycle.  Pillions welcome.

Off street parking available, campervans welcome to stay.

Tours are fully customisable for rider ability, we take riders uncertain of ability out on nearby gravel roads first to get comfortable.  Tours can be entirely sealed roads if you prefer.

Bikes are Suzuki DR650s, one lowered to 845mm seat height for shorter riders.  We also have a funky Royal Enfield Himalayan (Harry) that is even lower (800mm).

Riders must hold a current motorcycle license (Learners, Restricted, international licenses OK).

$NZ Costs: 290 per person, 50 per pillion

Southern Bays Tour

More Critters Than Cars

Once we get the paperwork sorted and the guests suited, we head out of Birdlings Flat to our practice track to get you comfortable with the bikes. Then off we go, your local guide will stop at all the best points and provide interesting commentary & anecdotes on what you are looking at. Head along the shores of Lake Wairewa to Little River, up to the iconic Hilltop Hotel.  Lunch at Duvauchelles, looking right back down the harbour.  Head around the harbour to Wainui and offroad up to the top of the deserted Southern crater rim for magnificent views of Akaroa Harbour, the Southern Bays and Pacific Ocean.  Towards the end of the road the Southern Alps and Kaitorete Spit reveal themselves more and more.  Time permitting there is then a wind down into the gorgeous Tumbledown Bay, usually more seals than people frolicking in the water.  Back to base for refreshments and a catch up on the days events.
